Exploring 3D Printing!

Have you been hearing a lot about 3D printing lately?  It is supposed to be the next big thing, and all us design types are trying to figure out what it means and how it relates to us…

Well, as I've been exploring it, I was asked to design a piece of jewelry using a 3-D printer to celebrate the expansion of the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC) and their addition of 3D printers to their lab.

Talk about perfect timing!

After doing some learning and thinking, I thought it would be fun to create 3-D 'printed' charms of cameras through the history of photography—from the mid-19th century all the way to the present.

Embrace this amazing new invention by reflecting on the past and how far we've come (and how fast technology moves and changes!)

These limited edition bracelets are now available here. Proceeds support the PPAC. And if you are Philly-based and intrigued, the grand reopening of PPAC will be on Thursday, February 12.
